Myanmar Travel Tips
AIRPORT TAX
Any passengers departing Myanmar on international flights
will need to pay US$ 10.00 per person as a departure tax.
CREDIT CARDS & CURRENCY
Major hotels, airlines and some international shops and
restaurants usually accept credit cards. However, it is
advisable to bring some cash with you for your expenditure.
Small denomination notes are preferable.
Although Euro, Japanese Yen, and pounds sterling can be
exchanged into Foreign Exchange Certificates (FEC) in some
major city, we recommend to bring US Dollars. US Dollars are
easily exchangeable for Foreign Exchange Certificates (FEC's)
at authorized money changers throughout the country and
vastly used.
TRANSPORTATION
There are three privately own Air Lines serving the
visitors, Air Mandalay, Air Bagan, and Yangon Airways.
Currently, due to shortage of supply, most of the cars and
coaches are 90's model.
In inland transportation, there are several boat company for
transportation both in private and public.
